Admission

Admission to the museum galleries, distinguished speaker forums, and art exhibits is always free! Many events at the Observatory are free. There is a small per-seat fee for the planetarium shows

Reptile Revue

1st & 3rd Tuesdays | 6 PM – 7 PM | FREE

Get up close and personal with some of the coolest cold-blooded residents of the Herrett Center! Reptile Revue happens twice a month and gives you the chance to meet our fascinating reptiles, learn fun facts, and even interact with them in a safe and educational setting.

Dinosaur Storytime & Crafts
Join us on December 20th at 6:30 PM for a dino-mite evening of stories and creativity at the Herrett Center! Perfect for ages 2–5, this special program features a lively reading of Edwina: The Dinosaur Who Didn’t Know She Was Extinct, a delightful tale full of humor, kindness, and one unforgettable dinosaur.
After storytime, little learners can unleash their imagination with hands-on crafts! Participants will create colorful handprint dinos, assemble their own dino skeletons, and make a Jurassic egg craft using foam materials.
This interactive program encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and early literacy—all while having prehistoric fun.
Cost: $10 per person

Bundle up and join us under the stars for our February Free Star Party at the Centennial Observatory!

You can view Saturn (before 7:35 PM), Neptune (before 7:39 PM), Uranus, and Jupiter, as well as stunning deep-sky targets—including star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies—after twilight ends at 7:47 PM on this romantic moonless night.

Observatory events are weather permitting. All ages welcome.

The Herrett Center for Arts & Science is committed to making our collections, building, programing, and services accessible to all audiences.

Open Caption is available for most Faulkner Planetarium Shows. To request this service, please let the cashier at the front desk know when purchasing tickets.

The Centennial Observatory features one of the world’s largest fully wheelchair-accessible public telescopes. An elevator takes visitors up to the observatory space, once there, a wheelchair elevator is available to take visitors with limited mobility to the observatory deck. The ARE-125, an optical “periscope” designed by DFM, allows unprecedented access to the telescope for wheelchair-bound or limited-mobility visitors.
