Step into the present and follow along as National Geographic photographer Carsten Peter leads you on a personal journey to see volcanoes from the inside, revealing their hidden mysteries. Get up close to the 2018 eruption of Hawaii's Kilauea and watch Carsten attempt to descend to a roiling, churning lava lake, launching fiery fountains. You may never want to get as close to an active volcano in real life as Carsten does, but you can go there with him from the safety of your planetarium seat.

The Faulkner Planetarium, Idaho's largest domed theater, features the latest in fulldome technology, capable of virtually transporting audiences around the world and to the universe's far-flung reaches. The theater can seat 144. Open captioning for the hearing impaired is available upon request for many programs.
