Herrett Forum Distinguished Speaker Series Presents:


A Historical and Contemporary Musical Travelogue of the people, places and stories of Idaho

For singers/songwriters Heather Platts and Bruce Michael Miller (Crazy Love), Idaho is the land of creative possibilities.  The uniqueness of its people, their open hearted, friendly nature, the richness of its history, the diversity of the landscape with its majestic, natural beauty, make Idaho an ideal environment/inspiration for writing songs. The "Idaho Originals" presentation features Crazy Love performing eight original songs about Idaho along with the stories of how each song came about. The show also includes a slideshow of original artwork by Idaho artists who were inspired by the Idaho Originals songs. An educational, inspirational, and always heartfelt performance that will the leave the audience with a feeling of community, civic pride and a newfound appreciation of the great state of Idaho.

Heather has been a featured performer at Boise Music Festival, Thousand Springs Art Festival, and the ISA Sisters in Songwriting Concert Series and was a solo artist for the inaugural 'Chick Singer Night' Concert in Boise, Idaho in 2022. Heather was a Women of Substance Radio top 20 artist for 5 consecutive months. Bruce has performed onstage with the likes of Paul McCartney, Kenny Loggins, Jim Messina and Laura Branigan. He was the 2016 and 2017 grand prize winner of the Smokey Mountain Songwriter's Festival.
