This program discusses early life in the Gem State, and the struggles of Indigenous communities throughout history. This program discusses European settlement and Idaho from 1805 - 1890.

Hunting & Gathering

(Recommended for 3rd - 5th grade)

This program teaches students about the hunting and gathering techniques of Idaho Tribes from early history to present day. During this presentation, students will be able to observe and handle hunting and gathering tools, as well as have the opportuity to explore one of two activities:

Activity 1: Learn to use a mortar and pestle: grind corn on a mortar and pestle and learn the importance behind this technique and tool.

Activity 2: Hunting and Gathering outdoor tag: This is the classic tag game with a historical twist. This actvitiy is weather dependent

This program discusses the Ice Age period, and teaches students about the people, places, and wildlife affected by this environmental change.

(This program is available for 11th - 12th grade, as well as campus admission tours)

This presentation teaches students about humanity's struggles, journeys and adaptions over time. This program offers team building and individual belonging.

This program teaches students about connections between human and prehistoric animal teeth! During the presentation, students will be able to observe fossilized and replica teeth!

Activity (K - 2nd): Animal Puppets: Students will create animal puppets with impressive teeth!

Activity (3rd - 6th): "Who's Tooth is It?" Students group up, get a tooth, and work together to identify the original owner, diet, and more!

(Recommended for 6th - 12th grade)

This program identifies weaponry throughout history, from Peru, Mesoamerica, and Idaho. Students will participate in the presentation and have the opportunity to observe different artifacts of weaponry.
