"Growth and Identity: How Migration is Reshaping Idaho" by Dr. Jaap Vos, University of Idaho
Dr. Vos details Idaho’s dramatic demographic shifts driven by an influx of newcomers and a steady outflow of longtime residents. A decade of vehicle registration and driver’s license data demonstrates that more than a quarter of Idaho’s population have relocated from places like California, Washington, and Utah, while many Idahoans also leave each year, reshaping communities' economies, political views, and planning needs. Vos further urges local officials and residents to focus on understanding and managing demographic change to guide the state’s future.
