Aloha Bird by Remi M. |

“My animal is called the Aloha Bird. It is a nocturnal bird that lives in the temperate rainforest. It is
a carnivore that eats dead animals and is as big as an alarm clock. It has purple feathers all over its body with a stripe of neon
green down its body. The Aloha Bird lives in a big group of other Aloha Birds. They create one huge nest where all the females
lay their eggs and the males sit on the eggs in the nest to keep them safe and warm. While the males sit on the eggs, the females go
out and find food to bring back to the males. Once the eggs are hatched, the male and female Aloha Birds take turns caring for the
babies and bringing them food to eat.” |

“I am retired and love being part of the art class and I thought it would be fun to create a version of
Remington's critter. It was an honor and joyful for me to create the Aloha Bird on a wood board with gesso glazes and glue, tissue
paper, card board, paper scraps, burlap, material, feathers, layers and buildup of acrylic paint. Thank you for the opportunity to be
part of this wonderful blessing.” – Pharyl Mesaros |
